"Inspiration comes within my inner soul." has always been the driving force for Valerie's creative vision and passion for life.

The dynamic layers of color, collage techniques, and the moving complexity of her paintings are forged and inspired by a lifetime of

influences. The multi-faceted and colorful compositions of her work reflect her many years of experiences.

 


Biography


Valerie Verona’s creative paintings and photography have been featured  in 

local and national galleries, residential and commercial projects, magazines, hospitals, and designer showcases.

Her unique art design combines her international travel experiences with her background in
home furnishings design, photography, advertising and space planning.

          
 
Valerie received her MFA from George Washington University.  

She has a BA in Art Education , Art Studio and Art History from Elmira College.

In l972, she studied in Florence, Italy, at the University of Florence. She  later attended Parson’s School of
Design in New York, where she studied Interior Design and Space Planning.

 

From 1976 to 1978,  Valerie was the assistant design director and the fashion coordinator for Wamsutta Mills in New York City.  She was
appointed as the director of advertising  and public relations for Mikasa, Inc.
in 1979. At Mikasa she managed the New York Showroom and traveled throughout the
United States as Mikasa’s tabletop design consultant. Valerie was the leading
fashion authority on various local television and radio programs in
Chicago, St. Louis, Scottsdale, San Francisco, New Orleans, Dallas, and
Houston, to name a few.  

 

Throughout her career, she has had many exhibitions of her work shown in Washington, D,C., and
the New York metropolitan area, including the Rowe House Gallery (D.C.) , the
Dimock Gallery (D.C.), Morristown Hospital Art Exhibitions (Morristown, NJ) and
the Art League ( Alexandria, VA). As an accomplished painter, 

she continues to create and exhibit her work.

 

In addition, Valerie has been involved in a variety of design endeavors, including the

creation of original art and hand-painted furniture and graphic design for the
home. As a member of the Women’s Association for Morristown Memorial Hospital,
Valerie has been involved in many design projects. Some of her most recent
endeavors include the design and advertising photography for the 2006,2008 and
2010 Mansion in May fundraisers for Morristown Memorial
Hospital,Morristown,N.J. In 2017 she was appointed as an Artist in Residence for Mansion in May. 

Valerie also has been member of the Visual Arts Center in Summit, NJ. She is currently a member of the Morris Arts Council and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Her work is presently featured in Sotheby's International show rooms throughout New Jersey.

Valerie’s studio is located in Chester, NJ and she is available for design
consultation by appointment.
